"Call in sick...or not."

Films: Flu Bird Horror (2008)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Forest

Height/Weight: half that of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Epidemics aren't a picnic for any species. If it sends people on a trip through pain and weakness and almost certain death, imagine what it could do to smaller creatures. Or don't, because surprises are inbound...

History: A particularly strange evolution of the Bird Flu has turned a group of avians into bat-like flesh-hungry monsters. The good news is that they don't intend on leaving their woodland home anytime soon. The bad news is that there are people there, and they all have targets on their heads…

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Several birds are shot and killed, but the majority are taken out by a tunnel explosion set by one of the teens.

Powers/Abilities: Attack by flu bird will result in slow, painful infection.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Putting aside all of that bad CGI, when we see these "birds" in close-up, they look just as ghoulish as we want them to. Or don't want them too, seeing how ugly and savage they are. Next time you see a gargoyle-looking avian thing, try not to get even the least bit hurt. Otherwise, you'll wish the birds ate you first.

Trivia: -The Bird Flu, or Avian Influenza, typically only happens with birds, but can be spread among humans too. It is incredibly lethal, and there are few ways to treat it.

-This film has been in production all the way back in 2000, when it was expected to be released in theaters, as well as include scenes of infected people turning into bird-monsters themselves. Alas, ever-lowering budget prevented this.

Jokes on you! We can see them coming a mile aw-where is my arm?

Great. The ravens are getting in on the action.

Not so much a killer's moon as it is a plague one.

"Need more...weed..."

Lousy Skeksis!
